Split Tone from Lake Maria

I like the split toning.

Windows Live Writer is out of beta

Not really all that interesting but I found that windows live writer (a blog post editing and uploading tool) is out of beta.  We’re giving it a try now.  I liked it quite a bit but it loads slower than BlogDesk (what I normally use) and it seemed to resize my images whenever I’d add them to a post.  Hopefully it is better now.

The thing I like about it is that it downloads your style sheet.  So you can see what your post will look like before it is uploaded.  You could do that with BlogDesk but you had to do it by hand.

Find it at windowslivewriter.spaces.live.com.

Yet another new theme

This one is pretty much as downloaded. I will be replacing the cherry blossom graphic once I come up with a suitable replacement.

Otherwise I love the style.

Edit: I think the screaming monkey should work fine as a graphic.

Excellent Freeware

Been loading up some freeware on my system. Thought I’d mention the ones I like.

CD Burner Xp – www.cdburnerxp.se

If you want to burn a CD or DVD and do not want to load a bloated, expensive and buggy application like Nero or Roxio this is the tool to get. It just burns disks. It can burn from an ISO or to an ISO. Very simple, very easy. If you just want to put files on a CD or DVD and don’t need all the features of Nero or Roxio this is the way to go.

As an aside I don’t think Roxio actually leaves your system when it uninstalls. I guess the 50 applications dig a little deep.

Keepass – keepass.info

This is a wonderful password keeping/generating program. The database and the .exe can be put on a usb thumb drive to make a nice portable solution. One of the great things about this is you can set insanely difficult passwords that you don’t have to remember. Just remember one insanely difficult password to get in and you have access to the rest.

Abiword – www.abiword.com/

A simple free word processor.

OpenOffice.org

Does everything MS office does (for the home user) without the price tag or goofy interface.

Media Jukebox 12 – www.mediajukebox.com

Free music player with a nice amazon store that helps pay my salary. Get the paid version at www.jrmediacenter.com. Much nicer. Worth the money. Still has the store.

There are more. But these are the ones I’ve loaded recently.

Panorama from Wild River

Not been feeling well lately. So instead of actually doing something today I was looking through some old images and realized I’d shot a panorama of the Amador Prairie at Wild River State Park a while back. (2 1/2 years ago, I think.) Never tried stitching it. Gave it a quick shot in CS3.

Untitled Panorama1

Another surreal edgy effect photo

I know it is a cheap effect I’ll look back on in disgust years from now but for right now I really like this look. Photo is a rather centered. Dunno if I like that or not.

Old photo taken along the Minnesota river with my Canon Digital Rebel.

Make your own Southpark character

This is mine. I couldn’t find my glasses.

Make your own here.

Great Album

I’m liking this Amazon MP3 Download store. I like this album more…

Amazon MP3 Downloads

If you haven’t tried this you should. $0.89 cents for a 256bit DRM free song is just too cool.

One can use the Free Media Jukebox 12 with the Amazon store.

Something or other Roman from the Penn Museum

This picture doesn’t really flow the way I would like. Focus is on the guy in the lower right. Maybe if I flipped the foto left to right….
