Looks like I just can’t use the lens type (EV?) so they had to remake the lenses. But according to Pearle Vision the lenses were correctly made and the prescription should still be good. The net of it is that CR-39 lenses are 1/2 the price of the EV lenses. Bringing the cost down another $45.
Now if these work I’ll be happy. Otherwise it is back to the real Eye Doctor. ($$)

Just noting that most of my fav TV shows are either on History, Discovery or Cartoon Network.
- Man vs Wild (Bear Grylls will eventually kill himself and his camera men.)
- Dirty Jobs
- Aqua Teen Hunger Force
- Frisky Dingo
- Extreme Engineering
- Myth Busters
- Engineering an Empire (Hosted by Buckaroo Banzai himself, Peter Weller.)
- Dogfights (Finally a use for flight sims.)
Some of the better short series are The Revolution recently on History and Everest: Beyond the Limit on Discovery now.
Probably time to see if MXC has had a few more episodes added.

Going through the TRNP North Unit pictures. Some are kind of intersting. Dunno why I like this one.

The HP B9180 Paper Wiki is a great resource for finding good papers for the B9180. It has lots of info on how to maximize them, too. Printer settings, profiles, user comments, etc. Very helpful.
The Canon iPF 5000 now has its own wiki over at The Unofficial Canon IPF5000 Printer Wiki
Since I’m posting links I might as well post links to Digital BW, The Print, where they are quite smitten with the new Epson 3800, and the HP B9180 /9100 Series printers Yahoo! groups.

A python.
This was shot at ISO 3200 with -2.0EV making it an ISO 12800 equivalent. (Shot with my 50mm at f1.4.)
This resulted in one seriously noisy image. (Between patern noise, hot pixels and just noise noise.) Liberal use of Neat Image smoothed that out. The remaining issues taken care of when resized for the web. (Bicubic Smoother is nice for such things. Even if you have to sharpen more when you are done.)

First pair of glasses are in. And I can’t see through them. Kind of feels like there is a subtle blurring haze. Not good.
Soon I’ll have a second pair. (The non sunglasses.) If I can’t see out of those then I’ll know there is a prescription issue. But I’m betting the problem is that they made the lenses wrong.
Anywho, we’ll know soon enough.
I remember why I stopped using them. It took several tries to get lenses right the last time. I wonder how many it will take this time. They are cheap, I’ll give them that but certainly not convenient.
The upshot of this is that I really like the sunglasses. If they can get the prescription right life will be good.

I think this is a lemur. Not sure, tho. Didn’t get the whole tail and the inverted v shaped branches should have been reduced to silhouettes.
